About Me
Jessica Cilella is a Chicago-based writer and editor. She began working for the Chicago Architecture Center (CAC) in 2017. In this role, she serves as the primary copy editor for all content on architecture.org and all public-facing print collateral and co-manages the production of a quarterly member magazine.
Prior to joining the CAC, Jessica worked as a reporter for the Daily Herald for five years, where she covered breaking news, education, business and lifestyle topics in Cook and DuPage counties. She co-wrote a series about heroin in the suburbs that won several awards in 2015, including the Illinois Press Association’s Community Service Award and the Peter Lisagor Award for best non-deadline reporting.
Jessica has contributed to several other publications, including Physician Family magazine, Suburban Life and 22nd Century Media’s weekly newspapers and a bi-monthly newsletter for Literacy DuPage. She received a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Loyola University Chicago and studied Spanish abroad in Puebla, Mexico.
